Third Annual Cookie Decorating

This will be the third year for our cookie decorating tradition, and it is my absolute favorite.

I followed Deb's recipe exactly. Because, you can't really try to change something that is already ridiculously flavorful and delicious and a family favorite, now can you? Plus, my complete adoration of Smitten Kitchen is now complete as I received her cookbook for Christmas. Basically the only thing left is for me to stalk her and stand outside her window calling her name until the police come. And that's only because her book tour didn't make it anywhere near NC. Even though I left multiple comments begging asking nicely. So, anyway, yes the gingerbread is a Smitten Kitchen creation and it's amazing and you should also adopt it for your family.

My favorite way to host a decorating party is to share everything between everyone. I don't really get fancy with piping bags (hello awful cleanup!) instead I just put the icing in sandwich bags that have teeny holes in the corner. I also put out all the holiday sprinkles we own, and mini choc. chips. Oh, and ton's of cookie shapes, of course. 

Then everyone just goes for it.
