3 Hour Delays Lately

Today was a three hour delay for public schools in the county. Which equated to a breath of fresh air. The opportunity to get caught up with things at home. And, of course, to actually show my face around these internet parts.

Lately I've been...

***
Making heart shaped foods for Valentine's day, followed by a hurricane's game to celebrate love.

Experimenting with new foods, like couscous to shake things up a bit

Loving the new wedding gifts that we are receiving, especially when they add to our game collection.

Soaking up the bits of snow that melt away into 50F afternoons

Taking a break from my big camera. My iPhone has been my go-to lately. Even for recipe documentation. (Like the kale pasta inspiration I had)

Learning new dough techniques for pizza, and new topping ideas, too!

Making eggs eggs and more eggs for breakfast as we work our way through the Insanity workout DVDs. Yes, they call it insanity because people are insane for doing it. Yes, we are insane.

Ecstatic over the teeny tiny growth on my succulents. Also ecstatic to take "real" photos of them for a wedding update coming very very soon!

I'm hoping this weekend will be a catch up weekend. Catching up on work and wedding and the very last of the last quilts to mail out. I've been ever so thankful for my amazing friends and family lately as I feel like I am all consumed by all the craziness going on. I seriously can't wait until I have free seconds to sit down and blog more. I've been getting the itch like crazy to update and share recipes and update some more. But then the dryer buzzes and dinner is ready and we work out (yay for being in awesome shape for our skiing honeymoon!) and then shower and then I literally fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow.

Today, however, was a three hour delay. We got to actually slow down. Get a teeny bit ahead. Eat a breakfast at normal pace. And I even got a load of laundry in. I have high hopes for this weekend. And for all the weekends leading up to the BIG weekend. Because at risk of being cliche, there's only 36 days left!! Holy. Moley.

  1. Kale pasta sounds delish -- especially if all that garlic went in it.
